{"id":1062,"date":"2021-07-26T19:44:30","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T19:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.cov19longhaulfoundation.org\/?p=1062"},"modified":"2021-07-26T19:44:30","modified_gmt":"2021-07-26T19:44:30","slug":"autopsies-may-explain-brain-fog-from-covid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cov19longhaulfoundation.org\/?p=1062","title":{"rendered":"Autopsies May Explain &#8216;Brain Fog&#8217; From COVID"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Authors: <strong>Alan Mozes<\/strong> <em>HealthDay Reporter<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\">One of the least understood effects of COVID-19 infection is &#8220;brain fog,&#8221; a kind of mental confusion that can take hold among seriously ill patients, sometimes lingering long after recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\">Now, a new study has spotted a possible neurological clue in the form of highly unusual cell clusters in the brains of people who had COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\">&#8220;What we&#8217;re talking about is a situation where patients feel fuzzy and foggy in their thoughts,&#8221; said study lead author Dr. David Nauen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\">&#8220;It&#8217;s when you&#8217;re extremely tired and sluggish, and your mental activity just doesn&#8217;t seem to be working as crisply and sharply as usual.
