The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) intends to stop the Centers for Disease Control\u2019s (CDC) recommendations that pregnant women, teenagers and children receive the COVID-19 vaccines, according to a Thursday report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HHS will remove<\/a> the CDC\u2019s recommendations for those individuals \u201cas a matter of routine,\u201d people familiar told The Wall Street Journal<\/a> (WSJ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The announcement is \u201cexpected in the coming days,\u201d sources told WSJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the time of publication, the CDC\u2019s website<\/a> states that everyone six months and older should get the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> has long been a critic of both the COVID-19 vaccines and their approved use for children and pregnant women. (RELATED: Congress Joins RFK\u2019s Crusade Against Big Pharma)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Children\u2019s Health Defense (CHD) petitioned<\/a> the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) about emergency use authorization (EUA) for Pfizer\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine for children aged five to 11-years-old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kennedy, the group\u2019s then-chairman and chief legal counsel, signed CHD\u2019s letter to the FDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYes, we will take legal action against FDA if the agency grants Emergency Use Authorization for Pfizer\u2019s vaccine for children aged 5-11,\u201d Kennedy tweeted in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kennedy stated in government ethics documents that he had resigned from CHD, the AP reported<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe CDC recommends THREE Pfizer Covid shots for babies by age 9 months. These shots are unsafe and ineffective, especially over the long term. And babies are at near-zero risk from Covid. So whose benefit is the CDC serving here?\u201d Kennedy wrote in September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The only 2024-2025 formula COVID-19 vaccines with full FDA approval are Pfizer-BioNTech\u2019s Comirnaty and Moderna\u2019s SpikeVax, according<\/a> to the FDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Those vaccines are approved for people 12 years and older, according to a FDA press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n WSJ reported the potential move ahead of the administration\u2019s plan to introduce a new framework for vaccine manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n FDA Commissioner Marty Makary<\/a> announced plans to reshape agency guidance Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
