That\u2019s true for most people. But if you\u2019re older or have another illness such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/diabetes\/default.htm\">diabetes<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/heart-disease\/default.htm\">heart disease<\/a>, you\u2019re more at risk for the serious form of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/lung\/coronavirus\">COVID-19<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\">Some people &#8212; about 1 in 6 &#8212; will have complications, including some that are life-threatening. Many of these complications may be caused by a condition known as cytokine release syndrome or a cytokine storm. This is when an infection triggers your immune system to flood your bloodstream with inflammatory proteins called cytokines.
